A Diagnostic Assessment provides a more detailed and formal evaluation of a student’s underlying ability, than delivered by an Educational Profile.

Initial Diagnostic Assessment

The Initial Diagnostic Assessment provides a detailed assessment in the following areas:

  • Reading
  • Comprehension
  • Writing
  • Spelling
  • Mathematics and Numeracy
  • Verbal and non-verbal reasoning
  • Assessment of Memory and Learning
  • Phonological Processing Visual Perception
  • Individual Learning Plan

An assessment will normally involve the student attending for two sessions of two to three hours each. The Diagnostic Assessment Report will then be delivered within 21 days. The Report will include formal Assessment against National Standardised scores, thus identifying discrepancies between the student’s ability and achievement in one or more subject areas.

Monitoring Diagnostic Assessment

A Monitoring Diagnostic Assessment covers the same areas as an earlier Diagnostic Assessment building on the information previously determined and identifying progress that may have been made.
